Random and funny facts you probably didn't know about Andréa Nebel:
 
Her family originates from Danmark, Iceland, Germany, and also the Far-East. Indeed, her grandfather's father's side appears to descent from Mongolia, of all places! Her many relatives reside today in England, Germany, the States and Spain.

She was a rebellious teen and says "the reason she never got arrested was because she never got caught".

After seeing Fight Club, Andréa got so inspired that she sought a fight club in town and ended up fighting a 1.9 m. guy (she seriously got her butt kicked that night...).

Andréa is very health-conscious and knows a lot about organic and eco-friendly products. She has been eating organic since teenager and is always up-to-date about the newest organic products. She totally opposes the lying food and cosmetic industry that sells bad products to unaware consumers. Andréa makes a lot of food and beauty products herself. She loves to experiment with food and always creates something new.

She always got on better with boys than with girls and has mostly male friends - the very few female friends are either artists themselves or otherwise work in media.

Andréa has two little brothers, and she has always been the cool big sister who influenced her baby brothers.

Andréa says that she is really nice, easy-going and tolerant, and she doesn't get easily upset... but once pushed beyond her border, then she can get pretty angry... (and scary according to witnesses).

To a lot of people that meet her she appears to be quite aloof, and she admits she is not really interested in talking to all kinds of people. Yet her friends and associates describe her as real funny, charming, easy-going and talkative.

Andréa jokes that she is "really cheap"... referring to being a cheap date... as she only needs one beer to get drunk and usually eats light meals.

Andréa's performances led her to be invited to lead clandestine shows at British manor houses. She also worked with British Hammer movies and Redemption movies at the time.

On her tour she joined with Subway to Sally, Subway singer, Fish, was so intimidated by Andréa that he looked to the ground whenever he passed her by. Andréa thought this was quite ridiculous.

In London, when Andréa started to make music, she heard a cool song by Legendary Pink Dots that had a trumpet. She spontaneously got the idea to add trumpet to a song she wanted to make and thus went out to get one. She went out to a music shop, bought herself a trumpet, and coming home she aimed to try it, but no sound came out. Andréa, quite surprised and disappointed that it was so difficult to play trumpet, thus returned the trumpet to the shop. She said she felt kind of stupid when she returned to the shop.

Andréa has 12 tattoos so far. She has the inscriptions "In My Dreams I'm Free", "Skindeep" and "Alva".

Andréa has to have a Cafe Latte everyday.

Andréa was squatting for about two years in London. She said it was a valuable experience, and she learned a great deal about human relations, how to survive and how to live in a tribal community.

Andréa admits she always had a lot of anger within her and it's thus really important for her to use her body. Without her body, her soul is not intact.

Andréa loves sighthounds. She also loves oriental cats and Arab horses. Her first dog was a boxer bitch called Nora.

It was (ex-husband) Samoth that humourously suggested Andréa to have a column called Seriously - The Things That Irritate Nebelhexë, because whenever she gets irritated about some stupid things she reads in the paper she calls him and starts with "you know... seriously".

She had a tough childhood and learned soon to stand alone... she says it gave her the courage to be as independent and individual as she is.

For all the money in the world she would never do an embarrassing commercial. She turned down quite some offers because she didn't think the concept was appealing to her.

She prefers to speak (and think) in English, she also speaks English at home. She loves England and has family in Bournemouth.

Andréa used to play live role-games and performances. She is quite a convincing actress and several times freaked out her fellow role-gamers. She would love to do "real" acting and play a rebel ... She thinks acting is similar to a magical performance: one creates an energy and creates one's own world.

Andréa has a lot of comical ideas in her head and she would like to write social-critical comedy for comic shows. She says humour is the way to make sense out of insanities and she loves the hillarious spiteful humour of Norwegian satire comedian Otto Jespersen, who really dares to push the boundaries.

She is a strict parent when it comes to manners and food, but otherwise is really liberal. "I'm a really nice, easy-going and supportive mum. I just want her to have good manners, and she has to eat right".

She is very determined and pushy when it comes to getting forward with her artistic goals, but she has a lousy business sense and gets a lot of help from her very organised ex-husband - Nocturnal Art Productions' owner Samoth - when it comes to contracts, formal letters or royalty statements.

The most emotional films she has seen are The Fountain and Requiem for a Dream.

Originally, Andréa started to make music in the vein of Death In June. Then she got the idea of getting together a Black Metal band. However, it was very difficult for her to do growls, so she gave up that idea.

She was once held back at airport security for several hours, because she refused to be strip-searched.

Some of her London friends nick-named her "Ilsa", referring to Elsa Fraulein SS. Andréa didn't quite like that.

Andréa's parents have never heard Aghast. She says she kinda started Hagalaz' Runedance because she needed some music that her parents could listen to. They really wanted to listen to her music, but she says if they would heard Aghast or Cradle Of Filth back then, they would have freaked out. They do like her Nebelhexë albums though.
